WHAT ARE THE GEAR TYPES USED IN THE HEAVY INDUSTRY SECTOR?

Heavy industry generally refers to industries that require large-scale production and intensive use. Gear variants used in such industries are often designed for applications requiring high strength and durability. Here are some gear types used in heavy industry:

  1. Bevel Gears: Bevel gears are gears with conical surfaces and are commonly used for transferring heavy loads. They are frequently used in applications such as lathes, mining machinery, ship propulsion systems and large centrifugal pumps.

  2. Worm Screw Gears: Worm screw gears are gears that combine with the screw gear and convert the force into rotational motion. These gears are used in high torque applications on large machines. For example, they can be used in applications such as cranes, bridge cranes and transport systems.

  3. Spur Gears: Spur gears are the simplest gear type and are also widely used in heavy industry. They are generally used in applications that require high strength and durability. They can be used in fields such as machinery equipment, machining machinery, mining machinery and large power generation plants.

  1. Helical Gears: Helical gears are a type of gear formed by the combination of helical gears. These gears are used in high speed and high torque applications. For example, they can be used in large compressors, propeller propulsion systems and other large industrial machinery.

  2. Chain Sprockets: Sprockets are gears that transmit gear movement through chains. Such gears are used in applications where heavy loads must be transferred. For example, they can be used in mining equipment, transport systems and agricultural machinery.

These are just a few examples of some types of gears used in heavy industry. More specific gear types and designs are also available depending on the application and needs.
